Strategic Cycle Network for Oxfordshire
Feedback from previous public consultations has shown significant support for safe cycle routes in and around the village and in 2015 the NPSC consulted on a possible segregated cycle route from Faringdon to Stanford (and on to Park Lane).

In March, the Oxfordshire Cycle Network (OCN) published their proposals for a Strategic Cycle Network for Oxfordshire – a county-wide ‘all ages, all abilities’ cycle network linking major towns, workplaces and transport hubs safe, direct and attractive routes. While, like our proposals it is an aspiration, it is a starting point for discussions with the relevant authorities, the public and other stakeholders about its shape, its benefits and costs.
OCN have published a map of their proposed Strategic Cycle Network (below) and we are pleased that they have included a route from Faringdon to Stanford along the A417 and through to Park Lane and Wantage in line with our own proposals.

We have been in contact with OCN and the Farcycles group in Faringdon and will be working together to identify how this could be funded and potentially realised.
