How did we get here

The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group started with an analysis of the 1996 Village Appraisal to determine which issues remained unresolved in the parish and what had changed.

Analysis of Village Appraisal

From this the Vision and Objectives were developed.

During this time the Vale of White Horse District Council published its initial draft of the Local Plan

The Steering Group held two drop-in meetings during March as part of the Initial Consultation Process. The aims of these meetings were to introduce the parish to the Neighbourhood Planning process and to get people’s views.

Introduction to Neighbourhood Planning

Following the Drop-in Events, the second part of the Initial Consultation was launched in the form of the Consultation Survey.  The survey findings were presented at the village Summer Festival in June 2014.

The Steering Group are using the output from the Initial Consultation to develop the options for future development in the parish and compile an initial draft of the Neighbourhood Plan. These will be put out for further consultation during September 2014.

About SITV Parish Neighbourhood Plan

We all want to protect and enhance what is good about our Parish of Stanford in the Vale, improve facilities and services and have a positive influence on future development. A Neighbourhood Plan (NP) is an important way to do this.

It will carry real weight in future planning matters. It can help direct where new homes, shops, offices, leisure facilities, schools and other development should be built and what they should look like.
